In short
The Magacin Cultural Centre is a space dedicated to art, culture and social activity.
Through the open calendar model, Magacin is, without any charge, available on a daily basis to hundreds of users, who contribute together to the maintenance and the improvement of the space and its ever growing visibility and value. At the same time, it becomes a place of an emerging community that keeps growing daily and an example of a collective effort in maintaining a common public good.
The legal status of Magacin is still unresolved, even though it was founded in 2007 as a partnership of actors from the independent scene and institutions of the City of Belgrade. Magacin survives and develops thanks to the resistance and the self-managed work of many individuals from the independent cultural scene, artists and activists and their friends and collaborators.
